The Third Thursday of every month will bring a new and interesting event to The Lodge at Old Trail.  Our Third Thursday programs offer a wide range of topics, many with a local flair.

These events are not just for an older audience; your entire family is invited. Third Thursdays are open to the public and typically free of charge. Light refreshments and beverages will be served at most events.

The Science of Hope – Hear the latest news and research about Alzheimer’s Disease from experts

Did you know that every 68 seconds someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s Disease?  Or that 1 in every 9 people age 65 or older has it? Today, an estimated 5.2 million people are dealing with Alzheimer’s disease.  Dr.  Carol Manning, Director of the Memory Disorders Clinic at the University of Virginia, will present on the brain changes associated with Alzheimer's disease and research strategies to prevent, slow or stop these changes.  Ellen Phipps, Vice President of our local Alzheimer’s Association chapter will share how Alzheimer’s is impacting the Commonwealth with the latest facts and figures. Meet the owners of Bold Rock Cidery and hear their story of bringing hard cider to our area and beyond. The Second Annual Crozet Culinary Chef Competition for Charity

Don’t miss this exciting evening of culinary competition as four local restaurant chefs compete to create the best entrée and dessert using a mystery basket of local ingredients in just one hour. Cheer on your favorite team, enjoy local wines and beers, and sample The Lodge’s chef prepared appetizers. You might even get picked to sit at Judge’s Table.
